ANATOMY TEACHING 2009/2010
CORE SURGICAL TRAINEES – SEVERN SCHOOL OF SURGERY
The Severn School of Surgery programme for anatomy teaching will be held in the Department of Anatomy at the School of Veterinary Sciences, University of Bristol, Southwell Street, Bristol. The sessions will be held in the evenings from 5:30pm to 8:30pm to allow as many core trainees to attend without impacting on clinical work/training. Teaching will be provided by senior clinical anatomy demonstrators under the direction of Dr Alice Roberts. Core trainees are expected to have read-up on the relevant anatomical topics prior to the sessions – these sessions are intended to be demonstrations and re-enforcement of existing knowledge. Places will be limited to 24 core trainees per session via the on-line registration system. All core trainees must bring hospital ID cards as proof of identification to be allowed access to the Veterinary School. Please note refreshments/food will not be served, but drinks are available for purchase from dispensing machines at the Veterinary School.
REGISTRATION
To attend the sessions below trainees must register onto them using the new events registration facility located within the relevant calendar. To accomplish this trainees must have an active website account as they will need to be logged in. Once a session has been identified the trainee will simply have to look up the day in the Core Training Calendar below and select the required link. Once here the trainee will be able to click “Please register me now” and as long as there is room their name will be put onto the attendee list. If there is not enough room the trainee will automatically be put onto a reserve list. It is imperative that if a trainee will no longer be attending an event they must ensure their registration has been cancelled so the place can be offered to the next in line.

We are very keen to receive feedback for these sessions as it is the only way they can be improved. Therefore we would be very grateful is all trainees who attend sessions could take the time to complete the following feedback form and email it to simon.davis@southwest.nhs.uk : Anatomy Feedback Form
*The Dissection Room (DR) is open for revision on Thursday evenings in the week before MRCS examinations. These are not taught sessions, but a variety of specimens and atlases will be provided for your own private study.
